Testo 557 RSA Receives Honorable Mention in 2011 Dealer Design Awards

The testo 557 RSA
Testo Inc. is pleased to announce the testo 557 digital AC and Refrigeration Manifold has been recognized for excellence in product design with an Honorable Mention in the ACHR News 2011 Dealer Design Awards announced earlier this month.

An independent panel of 30 contractors acted as judges in the competition that had 127 entries from over 80 different brands. Testo’s 557 RSA received an Honorable Mention in the “Testing and Monitoring Products” category.

The testo 557 four valve manifold with a built in vacuum gauge is the next high performance, low cost Refrigeration System Analyzer from testo. Building upon the easy to use 550 platform designed by testo, the 557 has two NTC temperature probe inputs and can either simultaneously or individually calculate superheat and subcooling in real time.

“We are very appreciative to receive recognition on the latest refrigeration system analyzer from testo,” product manager, Doug Goodwin, said. "We believe the 557 is a great advancement in refrigeration system analyzer technology."

The built in vacuum gauge of the 557 allows the technician to know when a system’s evacuation limit has been reached. The 557 will also perform integrity leak tests on AC/R systems with temperature compensation, insuring accurate results. The unit contains two temperature probe inputs for simultaneous real time calculation of superheat and subcooling. The testo 557 has 40 pre-stored refrigerants, eliminating the need for PT charts.

Tool Tip: Plug in Your Probe First

Is your analyzer not showing stack efficiency (i.e. dashed lines on the display instead of numbers)?
Turns out in all instances, the user failed to attach the sample probe prior to turning on the analyzer.

The probe on the Testo 327, 330, and 340 is a modular, all-in-one probe. The probe contains all the information input for the analyzer to work (temperature, flue gas sample, pressure, etc).

When the probe is turned on, the first thing the analyzer does is look for this source of information. If the probe is not connected, there is an immediate error and some data will not register (like stack efficiency).
